North Korean T-55A

Kit: Tamiya's T-55A
This vignette is a recreation of a North Korean T-55A during the late-1980s. The kit has a good texture for the turret surface, but I made a new surface with plastic putty (I personally think Tamiya's turret cast marks are a bit weak). Also, details of hatches and thin pipes extending from external fuel tanks were added, together with some damage over the fenders and fuel tanks. For the figures, I mixed Dragon's Russian tankers set and Tamiya's WW2 Russian infantry set, and did some conversion work on them. Since North Korean uniforms are based on WW2 Soviet ones, these were highly suitable. (Serang Kim is Editor in Chief of NEO Magazine, Korea)
