Description
This little was originally intended to display the Panzer I on its own, as l had been building it for some time due to doing other projects at the same time. I finally decided enough is enough, and that I would actually finish the project off.
Once l began l came up with a whole lot of ideas until l eventually settled on what you see here.
My diorama consists of the great little 1/35 scale Dragon Panzer IA "Smart Kit", and a set of Tristar Afrika Corps figures. All were built straight from the box.
The Panzer I kit went together really well and was painted with Tamiya acrylics through my Aztek A470 airbrush. l then applied several coats of Filters from Mig Productions, followed by the chipping and wear of the paint, and then lastly Mig Pigments were applied and then brushed off in areas to give the vehicle that worn dusty appearance.
Next l then made the base. To give it a more dramatic look, I set the base on an angle showing the tank going uphill.
The four Tristar figures were made from the box. These are excellent figures, really well posed and suited the dio perfectly.
They were all painted in a mixture of Tamiya and Citadel acrylics. I also used the new Citadel Ink washes to bring out the detail.
Once all figures were painted, l carefully glued them in position and all was completed.
This was a really fun project and I am very happy with the end result. Hope you enjoy it too!
