Description

When Luke Pitt finished his 1/48 scale AFV Club Sd.Kfz. 251 Ausf.C, Tamiya's all-new 251 Ausf. D had just hit the Editor's desk. I thought that it would be interesting to quickly build Tamiya's new model as a companion piece to Luke's lovely mid-scale Hanomag.

Both models feature in a detailed construction article in Issue 44 of Model Military International magazine. This issue also includes a helpful "Think Tank" reference piece on early 251s by Bruce Culver.

Although the approach of the two kits is quite different, they can both be recommended as enjoyable modelling projects.
