This new firm from China really seems to be setting the pace with a range of quite interesting and indeed different aftermarket sets. What we have this month is a range of paper and masking tape masks for various German tanks these news sets:

  • PPA5001: For a 1:35 Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer Camouflage scheme 1 (which depicts a 3 colour hard edge factory applied ambush scheme)

  • PPA5002: For a Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer Camouflage scheme 2 (which depicts a 3 colour hard edge factory applied cloud scheme)

  • PPA5007: For a 1:35 German King Tiger (Henschel Turret) Camouflage scheme 1 (which depicts a 3 colour hard edge factory applied ambush scheme)

  • PPA5008: For a 1:35 German King Tiger (Henschel Turret) Camouflage scheme 2 (which depicts a 3 colour hard edge factory applied cloud scheme)

  • PPA5013: For a 1:35 German King Tiger (Porsche Turret) Camouflage scheme 1 (which depicts a 3 colour hard edge field applied cloud scheme)

  • PPA5014: For a 1:35 German King Tiger (Porsche Turret) Camouflage scheme 2 (which depicts a 3 colour hard edge field applied cloud scheme)

All of the masks are die-cut onto a masking material that to all intents and purposes look (and indeed feel and works) like a really large strip of Tamiya masking tape.

The die-cuts are clean and precisely cut which makes their removal painless. A fairly detailed set of instructions is included and for the most part, they clearly illustrate the steps involved. When an ambush scheme is depicted, a small paper card with the appropriate cut outs is included with the masks. I have tested a small portion of one of the sets sent for review and can report the masks do pull away cleanly and leave little or no residue behind.

Anyone who has attempted to mask a hard edged camouflage on a German tank will detest how time consuming the whole task can become. These news sets offer a real time saving benefit and come highly recommended for that reason alone.

Highly Recommended
