Eduard PaK40 75mm (35782)

by Frank De Sisto

Photo-etched brass in 1/35th-scale for the AFV Club kit. Price: $14.95 USD.

This tiny set has relatively few “must-have” detail items, along with very few items whose inclusion is questionable. The former include tool clamps and brackets, tail-lamp bracket, details for the trails, clasps for the various storage canisters on the gun, details for the muzzle brake and some frame-work for the gun shields. Some small parts are also provided for the breech and gun cradle, while there are nice clamps and brackets for the ranging stakes. The latter parts consist of tiny strips that are to be rolled up and used to replace more-than-acceptable details on some kit parts such as the previously-mentioned ranging stakes.

I would think that the asking price for this set is a bit steep, considering what’s given. But that could also be a function of the fine detail given in the AFV Club kit. In short, it does not really need much, so Eduard doesn’t give much.

Recommended, with reservations.
