Bison Decals Tiger I Ostfront, s.Pz.Abt. 505, Totenkopf & Grossdeutschland (BD 35021)

by Frank De Sisto

1/35-scale water-slide decals for ten tanks. Price: $9.00 USD.

Continuing with the theme of marking Tiger I heavy tanks, Bison has released this sheet with enough material to dress up ten of these beasts.

The schemes include:
• Black C01, 11 Kp. Grossdeutschland Panzergrenadier Division.
• Black A23, 11 Kp. Grossdeutschland Panzergrenadier Division.
• White outline S20, 13 Kp. Grossdeutschland Panzergrenadier Division.
• White outline 40, 13 Kp. Grossdeutschland Panzergrenadier Division.
• Black 401, 4 Kp. SS-Panzergrenadier Division Totenkopf.
• Yellow/Black 931, 9 Kp. SS-Panzergrenadier Division Totenkopf.
• White outline 321, s.Pz.Abt. 505.
• Black 231, s.Pz.Abt. 505.
• Red/white 214, s.Pz.Abt. 505.
• Red/white II, s.Pz.Abt. 505.

Aside from the numbers described, there are also the various insignia included for s.Pz.Abt. 505, including the noted Charging Knight. In addition extra letters and numbers are provided for the Grossdeutschland Tigers as well as s.Pz.Abt. 505. So, more than the advertised number of ten Tigers. The waterslide decals are printed by Microscale and have excellent register and color saturation, and feature crisp edges. The instructions are well-done, but references will be helpful. Also, don‘t be confused by the instructions stating that some Tigers belonged to s.Pz.Div. 505, as that is a typo; it should read s.Pz.Abt. 505, which is how I have described the markings above.

Recommended.
