Modelu is a British company that produces 3d printed figures and associated services including full-body custom scans.

Their focus appears to be railway and lineside figures but they also offer civilians, workers, pets, wildlife, livestock and more.

This review covers two figure sets from Modelu’s Pets, Wildlife and Livestock lines.

Item No. 31005 - German Shepherds

Two different German Shepherds are included. They are printed in grey resin together on a single base with fine attachment points.

I removed both dogs from their attachments. This was a fast and easy job. I cut the points close to the bodies of the figures using a pair of side cutters and they were quickly freed with almost no residue.

The dogs can really be appreciated once removed from their printing strips. My samples were totally free of imperfections.

One dog has smooth hair and is sitting on his haunches. The second Shepherd is standing and has a shaggier finish. Both Shepherds will remain upright without any assistance.

The scale is listed as 1:32 but they would be perfectly appropriate as a slightly larger dog in 1:35 scale.

Also note that Modelu offers its figures in a choice of 15 scales from 1:19 to 1:148 including all the usual military and figure scales.

Item No. 31280 – Chickens

Five chickens are supplied in this set, three printed individually and two on a single mount.

Clean-up was as fast and easy as the German Shepherds. A couple of minutes was all that was required. The chooks are presented perfectly.

The feathers, eyes, beaks, crest and legs (or should that be drumsticks?) are amazingly authentic.

You’ll be able to have some fun painting these up!
