Cromwell Wheels Set Type 1 for the Tamiya kitT-Rex Studio, 1/35 scaleReviewed by Peter Brown
FirstLookThis 3d printed set has the original type of roadwheels for the Cavalier-Centaur-Cromwell series with cooling holes in the tyres. Later this was changed to a solid type which was used in NW Europe and later.
It comprises
All are very cleanly printed, idlers and sprockets come with small attachment points in one small zip-loc bag, hubs with attachment points in their own bag with the roadwheels loose in a separate bag. No instructions are provided although use should be pretty obvious. A small tab on the back of the roadwheels locates the hubs in place.
There is a problem with the roadwheels. They do not have the lightening holes on the rear faces of the tyres, not a huge problem as they cannot be seen once the wheels are in place but there are no parts for the inner wheels so the Cromwell kit parts need to be used which have the plain tyres. Even buying two sets does not help as the detail is for the inner wheels is on the wrong side.
It would not be possible to use these to make an early Cromwell. The Tamiya Centaur does have details on the faces between the wheels and this makes the T-Rex wheels just a replacement. Note that the idlers and sprockets are available separately as set TR35171 Purchased online from T-Rex Studio www.t-rex-studio.com
