FirstLook
The
very welcome Italeri kit of this subject is, as usual from this
manufacturer, a bit simplified. It is also a rather tough build as I
am finding out, but I digress…
Eduard has released an equally simple set containing a single fret of etched brass and three pages of instructions. Most of what is given is used to add some fine detail to certain areas of the kit. There are new hinges and latches for the engine deck access doors, as well as interior details for the crew access doors.
Typically, there are tool brackets
and clamps as well as new blades to allow the modeler to create new
shovels. Various lamp and equipment mounting brackets are added here
and there, as are new racks and details for the kit-supplied jerry
cans. There is a registration number plate as well as a screen for
inside the engine air cooling grill. Finally, there are new parts to
detail the exhaust muffler and its mounts.
Simple kit…simple update!
Recommended.
Thanks to Eduard for the review sample.
