FirstLook

WWII Productions continues its coverage of 1/48 scale tracks with their brand new KV Tracks.

These tracks will fit both the Tamiya and Hobby Boss family of KV-1 and KV-2 kits.

Similar to their 1/35 scale and previous 1/48 scale releases, these new tracks are supplied as individual resin links that literally click together without the need for glue. Casting is perfect, with no imperfections visible on the review sample.

Detail is simply beautiful on the inside, outside and edges of each track link, featuring a very subtle yet noticeable cast texture. Cleanup required is minimal - just a little feather-like resin waste here and there.

Assembly is also speedy. Insert one connection pin, click the second pin in place and move on to the next track.

WWII Productions tracks are especially effective when used on tanks with "dead" tracks, as they will naturally replicate the sag seen on the top run. In the case of Soviet KV tracks, this top-run track sag could be very pronounced. Because the tracks do not require glue, the amount of sag may be fine-tuned while the tracks are on the vehicle. This assembly method also makes it easy to paint the tracks separately, and fit both track runs after the vehicle and running gear have been painted.

WWII Productions' 1/48 scale tracks will be a worthwhile addition for any of the Tamiya or the Hobby Boss family of KV-1 and KV-2 Soviet tanks.

Highly Recommended.

Thanks to WWII Productions for the review sample.
