Jagdpanzer IV/70(V) Lang (Sd.Kfz.162/1)

Tamiya, 1/35 scale
by Brett Green

I have just finished painting, weathering and crewing up Tamiya's brand-new 1:35 scale Jagdpanzer IV L/70(V).

This kit boasts perfect fit and a high level of detail.

I built the model almost straight from the box, including the kit's full-length flexible tracks. I replicated track sag by gluing some pieces of bent brass strip to the bottom of the sponsons - easy and I think it looks okay.

The only other deviation from kit parts was to replace the crew figures' heads. I quite liked them, but one pinged off into the unchartered lair of the carpet monster, so I decided to replace both as the Tamiya and Hornet heads did not really match, style-wise.

The model was painted with the Testor Aztek A470 airbrush fitted with the tan-coloured Fine tip.

This project will be written up in detail in Issue 106 of Model Military International.

MMI is now also available as a digital magazine that you can read on your PC or Mac home computer. This means that the issues are available easily on day of publication the world over.
