Rules and Regulations

- In order to qualify for this contest, particpants must submit an article related to AFV, artillery or military figure modelling. This may be a construction or research article. A model doesn't necessarily have to be built in order to write the article, for example a well researched article on the use of Sherman Fireflies with 60lb rockets on their turrets by the Coldstream Guards would qualify as an entry for this contest. There is no limitation on the size of the article. Any text used must be original, unless quoted and stated in a reference list. Plagarism is strictly forbidden and will result in disqualification of the entry. Entries may be emailed to: Missing Links Online Contest Entries.
- Images are beneficial and will certainly improve the quality of the article. The acceptible formats for the text portion of the article are plain text, rtf, and MS Word. Images MUST be included seperately from the text in a high quality .jpg format. Failure to comply with this format may result in a very slow processing time or rejection of the article until the proper format is submitted. Images must not be used which will infringe upon any copyright laws.
- The contest period will run from February 28, 2000 until September 30, 2000. At the end of the contest entry period, a winning entry from each category will be chosen by the respective Missing Links Discussion Group emcee. The grand prize winner will be chosen from the category winners. The grand prize winner will be determined by a vote amongst the complete Missing Links Website staff.
- As in any modelling contest, Missing Links reserves the right to "split" any categories. For example, if there are a large amount of Russian WWII entries in the Allied WWII category, we may decide to split the category into Allied WWII and Russian WWII. We will then adjust the prize packages as need be or add more prizes.
- The article must be submitted in English. However, due to the nature of the internet (and the tremendous number of excellent modellers from non-English speaking countries) we will NOT be judging the entry solely on the quality of English used in the article. We welcome entries from all countries. Collaborative efforts are allowed in order to faqcilitate English translation. As the total number of prizes for the category will not change, the allocation of prizes between the persons involved will be up to their discretion.
- All articles that are submitted to this contest must be unpublished in any form of media, ie: magazines or any websites. Any deviation of the above results in instant rejection of the article.
- Participants are not limited as to how many articles they may enter. Remember however that quality is more important than quantity in this case!
- Articles are to be limited to scale AFV/figure modelling and/or historical research related to scale AFV/figure modelling. Any deviation may result in disqualification of the entry after discussion with the website contest staff.
- After the contest winners have been announced, Missing Links website retains exclusive use of all contest entries for a period of one (1) year for display on Missing Links Website. After this time period has elapsed, the article's author may distribute the article entry as they wish.
- Missing Links Website will ship all prizes to the category winners via standard postal service. Any contest winner who wishes to deviate from this in any way is welcome to make any other arrangements at their cost. Winners will receive their copies of Military Modelling Magazine by the usual subscription mailing method directly from Nexus Publishing.
- Members of Missing Links Website staff are not eligible to enter this contest.
- Missing Links Website reserves the right to review or modify any aspect of this contest. Any such modification will be clearly indicated to contest participants.
- All judges' decisions are final and no correspondance will be entered into.
- Missing Links Website is not responsible for any damaged goods due to shipping or other elements beyond our control.
